Where Calling Comes to Life: Preparing Teens for College, Career, and Beyond
A private Christian high school where students are prepared to build lives that reflect the One who knows them best
It usually starts with a simple question in the car or around the dinner table: “What do you think you want to do after high school?” And just like that, the future becomes real. For your teen, it may spark excitement — or uncertainty. For you, it’s the start of a deeper search. Not just for a path forward, but for a high school that takes their future seriously. At Ambassador Christian School, that search leads to something more. Our Christ-centered high school in Huntersville is designed for students who are still figuring it out — whether they’re drawn to college, the trades, or somewhere in between. Through hands-on learning, academic rigor, and a four-year journey of calling preparation, our students are not just learning… they’re becoming. And all along the way, they’re reminded that the One who created them already sees the road ahead.
Hands-On Learning That Opens Doors
When you talk with Amy Poag, our Director of Student Services at Ambassador, one thing becomes clear: our high school sees this stage as more than preparation for the next academic step. It’s preparation for life.
“In a typical college-prep high school, you don’t expect to find students in a teaching garage, working on a real Factory Five Roadster,” Amy says. “But here, that’s part of the learning experience.”
The industrial arts program at ACS gives students tangible, hands-on opportunities to explore real-world skills in spaces you wouldn’t normally associate with a private Christian high school. Depending on their interests, students might find themselves:
Working inside a fully outfitted teaching garage, learning automotive basics through hands-on instruction

“These opportunities are more than electives,” Amy explains. “They’re experiences that build confidence and uncover hidden gifts. Some students light up in these classes because it’s the first time they’ve connected what they’re good at with what a future could actually look like.”
Whether your teen is wired for hands-on work or simply curious about how things function in the world around them, ACS creates space for that curiosity to grow.
Calling Prep That’s Built to Last
“High school shouldn’t just be about the next four years. It should be about the next forty,” Amy mentioned.
That belief is what drives the four-year Calling Prep at Ambassador Christian School, a journey designed to help students discover how they’ve been uniquely created by God and how that can shape their next steps.
Each year builds with purpose, guiding students through a progression of assessments and reflection points that lead to real clarity:
Freshman Year
Your teen identifies how they’re naturally gifted through a Multiple Intelligences assessment that affirms their God-given strengths
Sophomore Year
They begin connecting passion to purpose with the Holland Codes Career Inventory, exploring what truly interests them
Junior Year
With the Myers-Briggs assessment, your teen learns how their personality shapes relationships and decisions, then builds an elevator pitch to express who they are
Senior Year
Through YouScience aptitude testing and a final Capstone Project, they connect the dots between their gifts and goals and what comes next — whether that’s college, a trade, or something uniquely theirs
Amy notes that students aren’t navigating this alone. Each one is paired with an advisor who walks with them for all four years, building trust and offering guidance. “There’s always someone speaking into their life, helping them see who they’re becoming,” she says.
A Path That Reflects Your Teen’s Potential
While hands-on experiences are essential at Ambassador, they’re not the whole picture. Academic rigor matters, too — and for students who thrive in that environment, ACS is ready.
“We’ve built a strong foundation of AP offerings and continue to expand our curriculum to support students who are aiming high academically,” Amy explains. “In year two, we’re adding courses such as AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Statistics, AP Literature, and AP Microeconomics to further equip our students for advanced study.”
That’s the strength of our model: your teen doesn’t have to choose between academic challenge and real-world preparation. Whether they’re college-bound or career-curious, ACS gives them room to grow in the direction that makes the most sense for them.

And no matter what their path looks like, it’s shaped by more than GPAs and transcripts. Through their advisor relationships, reflective assessments, and everyday learning, students are reminded that they were crafted by God with intention.
When it’s time to graduate, they walk away with a growing sense of purpose, a toolkit of strengths, and the clarity to face the future confidently.
A Place Where Your Teen Will Be Seen and Known: Discover ACS Today
“A student really can’t hide here,” Amy says. “They’re going to be seen and known. And what parent wouldn’t want that? The high school years are the stormy years for a reason. But if there’s a place of calm, a place where a student is discovering who God created them to be, it sets them on a path that points to their purpose.”
At Ambassador Christian School, your teen is invited into something greater than a checklist of classes or college prep milestones. AP courses that deepen their intellect. Hands-on experiences develop real-world skills. One-on-one advising and the Calling Prep journey help connect their gifts to meaningful direction. Every part of the experience is designed to shape both their character and their future — with Christ at the center of it all.
